We have the opportunity to open our holiday club in a separate, solo purpose building. A building in Thorne just for our club, from where we can run all of the fun activities and trips, from 7am to 6pm, that our children have experienced over the previous years! The catch is that to secure our Holiday Club premises, we need our After School Club numbers to pick up. Without the After School club numbers we will not be able to offer our Holiday Club provision, ultimately if the Holiday Club can not open, our After School Club will not be sustainable and we will be left with no option, but to close Happy Days for good. Myself and Sue have put everything we have into the business, narrowly avoiding bankruptcy during our recent closure. This is our last push to make this work. We are taking a big risk and intend to drop our prices to ensure fair pricing for all schools. We hope that this move will enable us to hit our target of 27 children a day, in turn securing the future of the business and enabling us to open up the much needed Holiday Club provision, where children will be able to take ownership of their club completely, creating the social space they want.

March 29th 2019 is Introduce a Friend Day.

Get 1 friend to register and attend our After School Club along with yourself on Friday March 29th and get your session free (or split it with your friend and get both sessions for half price).

After School Clubs prices will be reduced as of Monday April 1st 2019. Prices for After School Club will be from £4. Please check out our website and Facebook page for the full revised price lists and regular offers and competitions. If you need our Holiday Club please spread the word. We are so close to re opening it, but we need your help and support to make this happen.

Kind Regards
Martin, Sue
and our Wonderful Staff

We are now open at our new location (King Edward Primary School).

We have been working tirelessly to ensure the club re-opens, and would like to thank Mr Buxton and his team for stepping forward and providing us a place to set up in. Myself (Martin) & Sue have put our heart, soul and every penny we have personally been able to get our hands on, to the point that we have narrowly avoided bankruptcy, to keep the business running during this period of enforced closure.

This is make or break time. We have nothing left financially to keep the business afloat, so it's now over to you guys. We have the proposed start date, all you need to do now is get your bookings in, to secure the future of the club.

Due to increased running costs we have sadly had to revise our prices. We do understand that schools are now offering a similar service, which they are able to provide at a much lower cost. We appreciate that cost is a major factor for all families when deciding on childcare, but if you value our service, now is the time to show your support, this is a provisional date and if the bookings do not cover running costs we will be unable to open. We are still a not for profit company, supporting the local community. These prices are in place to ensure sustainability. Thank you all again for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming children old and new to our new premises.

Happy Days Community Childcare provides fun care for children aged 3 to 13 years, in a safe, happy, stimulating & relaxed environment. While the club is managed by staff & Parent Directors, no decision will be made without input by the Children. Our aim is for a child led club which will give every child the chance to be involved in the day to day running of the club if he/she would like. Child involvement will include ordering of resources, toys & games, setting healthy and balanced menu's, as well as managing the petty cash to purchase resources.

The Club has been set up as a Social Enterprise with the aim to provide affordable, flexible, quality childcare for the whole community therefore allowing parents access to training and employment with the peace of mind that their children will have the opportunity to play, have fun, socialise & learn vital life skills whilst attending the club. Children benefit from a motivational and healthy start to their school day, and for schools we aim to raise attendance and punctuality. We have strong links with the local children's services, other childcare providers and we support local community groups where possible, such as previously sponsoring the local under 10's football team and working with a children's fitness coach during our summer scheme.

Happy Days will ensure that all Children's individual needs are met regardless of Age, Stage or Ability by our staff, who are all qualified Playworkers and/or Early Years Professionals. We also have a bank of parent volunteers who all hold current DBS Enhanced Disclosures for our setting.
