Easyfundraising

With rising running costs, we need to look at ways to keep the club sustainable. We do not want to put or prices up but to achieve this we need your help.

Do you shop online? By doing shopping through easyfundraising you can raise a free donation for Marshland Happy Days every time you shop!

Did you know that whenever you buy anything online - from your weekly shop to your annual holiday - you could be collecting free donations for Marshland Happy Days - Thorne & Moorends?

There are over 3,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation to our club, including Amazon, Ebay, Argos, Asda, Tesco, and Sainsbury's – it doesn't cost you a penny extra!

Basically, once registered with easyfunraising, every time you buy online, the company you buy from donates a set amount to us. If we get enough of you using this system then we will not have to put the prices up.

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...

1. Head to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/marshlandhd/ and join for free.

2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.

3. After you’ve checked out, that retailer will make a donation to us for no extra cost whatsoever!

There are no catches or hidden charges and Marshland Happy Days prices will stay the same.

Also, as an added incentive, the family with the most donations gained at the end of the month will get a FREE After School Club or Breakfast Club place of their choice.

Thank you for your support, and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Fundraising: The Magic Miles UGB200

On August 19th 2017 our club director Martin will be racing 200mi across the Trans Pennine Trail in a race called Ultra Great Britain. The Children at the club have been doing cartwheels, running and walking, laps around our field during the summer holiday club. They have been adding their joint miles up and plotting there distance on a map of the race. The children are asking family and friends to sponsor them for the laps that they do. Sponsor forms are available at the club and we have a collection tin for loose change. All money raised will be counted by the children at the end of the summer and then the children will decide what toys and play equipment they would like to buy with it.

If there is any of you that would like to get involved with helping Happy Days raise more money please get in touch with us, this could be a great chance to do something out of the ordinary, sky dive, run, cycle, lay in bath of baked beans????? Just get in touch, we'd be happy to help. In the meantime thanks again for all your support.

The Last Harvest Of The Year

The Staff & the Children would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the parents that have supported the Chidden with their Allotment Stall. The children have so far raised over £35 to date on vegetable sales alone. The Children have enjoyed planning the stall themselves, from deciding the prices to weighing out the veg & running the accounts of their stall. They are currently selling the last of this years vegetable harvest, the children have a good idea of what they plan to stock the stall with next, they have embraced the idea of fundraising to buy more toys & equipment with open arms. Tulip bulbs have already been planted & Scoobys are being sold as of next week to continue the little enterprise group they have set up.

All proceeds from the stall will be used by the children once they have agreed what they would like to spend their earnings on. As all of our staff are still working for free, we are lucky enough for all the earnings from the club have been pumped back into the club & the allotment. A lot of work has been put into the allotment by Gary Hookway (Martin's Dad) & by the start of next season the allotment will be fully child friendly with structures such as a shed, seating, sensory beds, a fruit cage & not forgetting our recycled pop bottle green house that you lovely lot have been so kind to help us with by dropping off all your used bottles.

OUR ALLOTMENT STALL IS OPEN

The Children are pleased to announce that our allotment stall is now OPEN!!! Yesterday we had a trip down to our allotment with a small group of children and harvested the crops that were ready. We now have for sale Potatoes, peppers, onions, leeks, carrots, cabbages, courgettes & lettuces (50p) tomatoes (5p)  & beetroot (20p). We did have some jucy apples but the temptation was too much & we ate them as snack on Friday. As for courgettes, nobody in the club had ever eaten them before so we made curried veg with them & "most" of the children really enjoyed it. Here is the menu for it > CLICK HERE :o)

The Children run the stall all by themselves & decide the pricing & what the money is spent on. So far they have raised over £30.00 23/9/11. The stall is based within the club but people from the local community can pop into the club to buy our produce & help us raise funds. We hope to soon have onions, peppers, potatoes  & cucumbers so watch this space as our veg is selling very fast.Children checking out the herb seat
